The Berean Family Home opened in Albany, Louisiana, in 1979, but now continues the work of caring for children in its Lincoln County, Mississippi, facility as Berean Children’s Home, Inc. The Lincoln County home opened in the fall of 2011 with a capacity to house 16 children. Future plans include constructing two more homes to double the number of children to 32.


The Berean Children’s Home, Inc., is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization under the Internal Revenue Code. Thus, all donations are tax-deductible. Contributions from individuals, churches, civic organizations, foundations, and businesses fully support The Home.

Children between the ages of 2 and 21 can receive residential care at Berean Children's Home, which has a Mississippi state license. We offer fundamental care in a nurturing, open environment that supports their development. Our children attend public schools, where we emphasize academic excellence and community involvement, helping them thrive both academically and socially.

At Berean Children's Home, our mission is to provide a loving home where children can grow spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically. We believe that every person is created equal, and even those facing challenges can reach their potential through family-oriented residential therapy.


Our facility fosters an environment that supports the well-being of all, including our house parents and residents. We focus on assisting adolescents in need, redirecting them towards positive behaviors through a family-centered approach, therapy, and goal-setting.

    Our mission at the Berean Children’s Home is to provide children with a loving home and to assist each child to mature spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically.

  • What are our goals and beliefs?

    At the Berean Children’s Home, we will seek to assist adolescents who need our care. We believe that a family-oriented approach can redirect most of these young people towards more constructive and positive behaviors. We teach goal-setting, personal care, laundry, money management, food preparation, shopping, and other independent living skills. Our partnering facility can provide group and individual therapy, family systems therapy, values therapy, MYPAC, and ability work.


    We pray that the Lord will continue to bless this work, as He has abundantly done since 1979. Our goals are still the same: teaching spiritual and moral values, developing intellect, emphasizing citizenship, and seeing to the social, mental, and physical development of children.
